Think about it – a high number of decisions you make today will be based (at least in part) by what you perceive others will think. Arguably, one of the greatest determinants underlying your level of health, well-being & success (whatever that means to you) is your ability to ignore other people’s negative/de-motivating opinions/advice.
Tip:
1. Pick one thing you would really like to do / try / achieve (learn to dance, give up/reduce alcohol, leave work earlier etc) but you haven’t – solely because of what someone else / others (friend, work colleague, boss etc) might think.
2. Realise that apart from family, in 5,10, 20 years time, you will almost certainly never ever again see that person/group that you are currently putting so much importance on what they think of you.
3. Decide right now to “stuff the knockers” – those that want to bring you down to their level – commit to your goal anyway & refuse to let their (negative) opinions stop you from achieving what you want.
Final Thought:
Whenever faced with a situation where you feel pressure to compromise things you want to achieve – ask yourself this. Is my health & happiness more important than other people’s opinions???
