I’m not sure why you don’t like dairy, but assuming it’s a good reason (not just due to the general population ignorance about dairy), rice or almond milk are good alternatives. Unfortunately, most of the commercial ones are basically not much more than water, and many are high in sugar. We used to buy these, but now make our own almond milk by soaking some almond flakes overnight then blending them up to leave you with natural almond milk, and almond meal (powder).
But obviously up to you how practical that is.
